Part of Somatic Place

A psychotherapist who understands the horse world.

Psychotherapy for equestrians in Tillsonburg, in office or at the farm, with Natalie Daniel, CYW, RSSW, Psychotherapist.

Something has happened, and you need real support. But it's hard to open up to someone who doesn't understand what horses mean to you. Here, you won't have to explain why the barn matters.

My story

Raised with horses. Back in the saddle as an adult.

You're in the right place if you're looking for psychotherapy from a person who's passionate about equines and understands the equestrian journey.

I grew up with horses, and I picked up riding again as an adult. I know the joy of it, and I know how much of yourself you pour into it.

I'm also familiar with neurodivergence after more than two decades of working at group homes, mental health agencies, or supporting students as an education assistant.

At this time I'm blessed to bring both my passions together and provide support for individuals who have tried traditional therapy and felt that their therapist just didn't understand the kind of challenges riders, or horse owners face.

That's why I created this space. I'm passionate about helping people during a difficult time.

What I help with

Support within my scope of practice.

  • Autism

Support that respects how you take in the world, at the barn and beyond.

  • ADHD

Focus, overwhelm, and the big feelings that come with a busy mind.

  • OCD

Loops of worry and checking, and the pressure to get everything right.

  • PTSD

After a fall, an accident, or something that changed how safe you feel.

  • Grief

Losing a horse, a partnership, a person, or the riding life you had.

  • Challenging transitions

Retiring or selling a horse, injury, moving barns, or stepping back from showing.

You won't have to explain

The things horse people carry.

  • Why losing a horse can feel like losing family, and why others may not get it.
  • The fear that can follow a fall, and how it shows up in the saddle and outside it.
  • The cost, the early mornings, and the pressure of showing or competing.
  • Barn friendships, barn drama, and what happens when your safe place stops feeling safe.
  • Injury, retirement, selling a horse, or stepping away from riding for a while.
