When your body is still carrying what your mind has survived.
If you live with chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, intense trauma triggers, or the lingering effects of painful relationships, your nervous system may feel constantly on alert or locked in protective shutdown.
Talking can be meaningful, but some experiences are held in the body as well as the mind.
Somatic Place creates space to notice body cues, emotional patterns, nervous system responses, relationship experiences, and the protective strategies that may have helped you survive.
A somatic informed approach shaped by trauma and attachment.
As a Registered Social Service Worker, my clinical work is somatic informed and shaped by trauma recovery, attachment, nervous system awareness, and relational care. I am not a somatic therapist; Somatic Place brings somatic awareness into psychotherapy rather than practicing somatic therapy as a distinct modality.
My approach draws from the trauma resolution models of Geraldine Crisci, Polyvagal Theory associated with Stephen Porges, somatic trauma approaches informed by Abi Blakeslee, and attachment informed family work inspired by Susan Levy.
My dedication to this work is also personal. Growing up in a blended family and navigating my own trauma experiences taught me how important it is to rebuild internal safety, self trust, and a sense of choice.

The session environment
Sessions take place in a quiet office environment designed to support privacy, safety, and reflection. Where appropriate, an optional infrared and PEMF mat may be available as a comfort based adjunct to the therapeutic environment. It is not medical treatment and does not replace medical care.
Paced by your readiness
The pace of our work is guided by your readiness, consent, and capacity. There is no pressure to speak, share, or move faster than what feels safe. Steadiness is built through small, felt shifts.
